Atkinson is providing CMGC services for the conversion of existing two-lane SR-46 to a four-lane divided expressway, east of the town of Shandon in San Luis Obispo County stretching for 13 miles. The project also includes constructing a trumpet style interchange at SR-46/SR-41. The project is broken down into three segments: Cholame, Wye, and Antelope Grade, and includes seven bridges, 24 miles of two-lane continuously reinforced concrete pavement (CRCP), 5.5 million cubic yards of earthwork, two mini-CHP inspection stations (non-habitable), associated drainage and roadway work, third-party utility coordination, and environmental permitting support.
